If you are interested in starting a new career in the healthcare profession, Oregon Coast Community College’s lineup of nursing & allied health programs may well be the right choice for you. Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (RN)

Two-Year Degree

This two-year degree is a combination of nursing and transfer credits. This Associate Degree qualifies you to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX – RN) to become a Registered Nurse (RN). 

LPN-to-RN  |  OCCC now offers a LPN-to-RN Bridge Program. This program offers those with an active and in good standing Oregon LPN license a straightforward and accessible path to becoming a Registered Nurse. 

Practical Nursing  |  The Practical Nursing Certificate offers a one-year curriculum for students seeking to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This certificate qualifies you to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX) to become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Launching Fall 2026

OCCC’s Nursing Program will launch its RN to BSN program in Fall 2026. As part of a consortium of Oregon Community Colleges, Oregon Coast is presenting this innovative and accessible program, designed for registered nurses who already hold an AAS degree in Nursing. Students will complete coursework online while finishing with an in-person capstone experience right here in Lincoln County.

Medical Assistant Certificate

Less Than One Year Certificate

The Medical Assistant Program prepares students for entry level employment in a clinic or a variety of other healthcare settings. Program graduates will have the academic, administrative, and clinical skills necessary for an allied healthcare professional.

Emergency Medical Technician Certificate

Less Than One Year Certificate

The Emergency Medical Services Department offers career training for entry-level positions in emergency medical settings. Ambulance companies, fire departments, police departments, and various other industries requiring emergency medical services may employ EMT graduades. 

Nursing Assistant Program

Become a Certified Nursing Assistant

The Nursing Assistant program introduces knowledge and skills to deliver patient care to residents of long-term care and other care facilities. Covers personal care nursing skills, restorative services, mental health services, social needs and patient rights. This course meets the Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) requirements for eligibility to apply and test for Nursing Assistant 1 certification.

Occupational Therapy Assistant

Distance Education Program

Oregon Coast Community College has partnered with Linn Benton Community College (LBCC) to bring the Occupational Therapy Assistant Associate of Applied Science program to the Coast via distance education.  Students wishing to study this occupation may take prerequisite courses at OCCC, apply for the distance program, and receive the degree via distance delivery while remaining here at home on the Coast.
