Study Science at OCCC

Students at OCCC can choose from a diverse range of science courses at they pursue their academic goals. We provide science courses for students working on associate degrees, such as nursing and aquarium science, in addition to courses needed to transfer to a 4-year college or university. We offer 200-level courses for students that plan to major in a science discipline, in addition to many 100-level courses for non-science majors.

In our Physical Sciences Department, we currently offer courses in environmental science, geology, chemistry, and general science, with aspirations for adding physics courses in the future. In the Biological Sciences Department, we offer numerous courses that include microbiology, human anatomy and physiology, marine biology, and introductory biology.

OCCC’s talented and dedicated faculty have advanced degrees in their scientific disciplines and are experienced scientists and teachers. Students benefit from small class size, easy access to their instructors, and engaging hands-on activity in our laboratories, which are located at both our Newport and Lincoln City campuses.
