Cooking for the Holidays, with Olde Line Lanes

Have you ever heard an old line like, “with these appetizers, you’ll be the life of the party!” Well, we’re big fans of old lines – and of Olde Line Lanes, the Lincoln City eatery (and bowling alley) which has become famous for amazing baked goods, bubbly pizzas, fried chicken sandwiches – and everything sandwiched in-between. Danelle Lochrie and Ethan Granberg, the owners of Olde Line (whose past successes at the Rockfish Bakery and Hearth & Table
led up to their current venture) are lending their copious talents to
Oregon Coast Community College this fall. They present two classes sure to help you make a splash on the upcoming holiday party scene. Both classes will be held on Monday, Oct. 21 in the commercial kitchen located at the Lincoln City Cultural Center, at 540 NE Hwy. 101 in Lincoln City.

Class 1: Holiday Appetizers

Put down your phone. It’s time to stop downloading apps – and time to start whipping up some APPS! Savor this amazing course featuring the savory treats sure to ‘wow’ your guests. You’ll discover how to make amazing apps, including Oysters Rockefeller, and a focus on “The Art of the Meat and Cheese Board,” which will cover making a cheese ball, chutney, and pickles, and then using salami, crackers, and fruit to finish. If you’re lucky, the class will be able to snack on the finished meat & cheese board!

INSTRUCTORS: DANELLE LOCHRIE & ETHAN GRANBERG
MONDAY, OCT. 21, 9AM-NOON • $25 • SUPPLIES FEE $20

Class 2: Holiday Cookies

In this class, the focus is on sweets – and what’s a holiday party without them? You’ll learn how to bake the perfect coconut macaroons, Pfeffermusse, and – of course – fruit cake.
