This course covers everyday basic car care for roadside emergencies. Have you ever been stranded with a flat tire? Do you even know what happens under the hood? Living in a rural area where tow trucks and cell service could be miles away, do you know the basics of how to get your car and your family safely home or to the shop? Learn to understand the terminology of car mechanics and:

• How to change a tire

• How to install chains

• How to check fluids and tire pressure

• How to add water safely to the radiator if your car overheats

• Which tools should you have in a roadside emergency kit?

• How to change windshield wiper blades and fluid

• Identifying the parts under the hood

• How to talk to a mechanic

• Questions to ask when buying a used car
