October 18, 2024College Selects Project Manager for Trades Education Facility
Oregon Coast Community College has selected Alsea-based Integrity Management Solutions, LLC (IMS) as the Project Manager/Owner’s Representative for its upcoming trades education facility construction project. This initiative, part of a bond measure approved by voters in May 2024, will also bring vital improvements to OCCC’s existing campuses in Lincoln City, Newport, Waldport, and Toledo.
Under the leadership of principal owner-operators Chris and Nancy Giggy, IMS has built a reputation for successfully managing education and public projects across Oregon. The company specializes in working with school districts to manage projects of all sizes, from capital improvements to multi-million dollar bond-funded endeavors. Their services range from pre-bond planning and design management to project oversight and handover. IMS’s approach emphasizes integrity, transparency, and collaboration to ensure that every project is completed on time, within budget, and aligned with the client’s vision.
“We are very excited to be working with OCCC’s dynamic leadership team,” said Nancy Giggy. “Initial meetings have provided an abundance of information and we look forward to further meetings with additional stakeholders in the next few months. This is going to be a tremendous advancement in the educational opportunities for the Lincoln County community.”
“We are pleased to have found a firm of this caliber to partner with the College on this critical project,” said OCCC President Birgitte Ryslinge. “A team of College leaders, including Board of Education member Bud Shoemake, invested many hours in the selection process, and the Board and our team are excited about what IMS will bring to OCCC and our Lincoln County community.”
The IMS team recently completed a major $80 million, multi-year project for the Coos Bay School District, which included both new construction and modernization of existing facilities.
On Thursday, October 17, just one day after OCCC’s Board of Education approved the partnership, IMS staff were on-site at the College’s Newport campus, touring facilities and meeting with President Ryslinge, Facilities Director Chris Rogers, and other college leadership. IMS is now preparing Requests for Proposals for roles such as project architect and geotechnical engineer, while the College works on related priorities, including the establishment of a community Bond Oversight Committee and engaging stakeholders throughout Lincoln County.
The construction project will ultimately deliver the Oregon Coast Advanced Technology & Trades (OCATT) Center, with groundbreaking planned for Summer 2025. This center will further OCCC’s mission to provide state-of-the-art educational facilities for the region’s growing workforce and trades programs.
