OCCC Foundation invites community to campus for ‘Giving Tuesday’

The Oregon Coast Community College Foundation is pleased to announce its upcoming Giving Tuesday event, “Dollars for Scholars,” to be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the College’s Central County Campus in Newport.

Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to philanthropy, and the Oregon Coast Community College Foundation is inviting the community to join them in supporting students through scholarships and various other programs. The event will take place at the Newport Campus, located at 400 SE College Way.

Attendees can expect a warm welcome from Foundation leadership, including Director of Development Jeanette Campagna, who will be on hand to greet visitors, answer questions, and receive donations in person. This is an excellent opportunity for donors to make year-end contributions to a non-profit organization committed to enhancing educational opportunities for Lincoln County students.

In addition to the chance to give back, the Giving Tuesday event will feature refreshments provided by the Your College Store, as well as a chance to snap a photo with Waverly, OCCC’s beloved Shark mascot, who will make a toothy appearance during the noon hour. Throughout the event, donors will be offered the chance to be featured on the College’s social media channels (@occcsharks) in recognition of their support.

“We are excited to celebrate Giving Tuesday with our community and showcase the incredible impact of ‘Dollars for Scholars,’” Campagna said. “Our mission is to support students on their educational journey, and we invite everyone to join us in making a difference.”
