The Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) has approved a bridge program at Oregon Coast Community College (OCCC) to allow active Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to pursue Registered Nursing (RN) licensure.
Applications for this program are now open and are being accepted for a Fall 2023 program start. There are 15 spots available in this program. The addition of this program allows OCCC to increase the number of nursing program graduates by over 40%. This is a tremendous step forward in addressing the need to increase the healthcare pipeline in Lincoln County and beyond.
The LPN to RN bridge cohort will begin the program in the Fall term and will complete one year of coursework followed by state licensure testing, while RN students participate in a two-year program. This cohort will be required to show evidence of active LPN licensure in the State of Oregon and must also meet other prerequisite requirements to be admitted to the program.
You can apply to this program by completing the OCCC LPN to RN Bridge Program Application. This application also includes several other steps that must be completed in order to be admitted to the program. The application cycle has been extended to Friday, June 9, 2023, at 1145 PM. For more information about the LPN to RN Bridge Program please contact Dr. Crystal Bowman, Director of Nursing & Allied Health at OCCC at Crystal.Bowman@oregoncoast.edu
