The People and The Public
April 30, 2025
Local high school students will present the business ideas they’ve developed over the past several weeks in front of a panel of judges—and a live audience. These students have been working through the fundamentals of launching a business, including:
Generating business ideas
Developing business plans
Marketing and promotion strategies
Public speaking and pitch delivery
Winners will receive cash prizes and scholarships, with audience members helping select the recipient of the $500 People’s Choice Award.
The event is free and open to the public. Whether you’re a business owner, student, educator, or simply curious about the next generation of entrepreneurs, your presence will support and encourage these young innovators.
Judges for the event will include local business professionals, and last year’s Y.E.P. winner, Judah Tysman, a student at Waldport High School.
This program is made possible thanks to the support of:
Georgia-Pacific
Northwest Oregon Works
Lincoln County School District
Economic Development Alliance of Lincoln County
Oregon Coast Community College
Kelliane Parker, Assistant Director of the OCCC SBDC and founder of Y.E.P., said the community’s support is essential.
“We’re proud of all our students,” she said. “And we’re excited to continue growing this program for years to come.”
