July 1, 2025Small Business Summit to Empower Minority-Owned Businesses in Newport
Oregon Coast Community College’s Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host the Oregon Small Business Summit: Newport on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, offering a morning of workshops, networking, and resources tailored to support minority-owned businesses and entrepreneurs.
Presented in partnership with the Oregon Department of Administrative Services, this free event will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the OCCC Central County Campus in Newport, located at 400 SE College Way.
The summit is designed for veterans, women, and other minority business owners seeking to grow their enterprises or enter public-sector markets. Participants will learn how to access certification programs for minority-owned businesses and discover how to pursue contract opportunities with state and federal agencies.
Event highlights include:
- Informative workshops focused on building partnerships and navigating public-sector procurement opportunities.
- Access to local, state, federal, and higher education resources.
- Four hours of continuing education credit from the Oregon Construction Contractors Board (CCB).
- Opportunities to network with key agency partners and business professionals.
Space is limited and registration is required. The event includes refreshments and lunch at no cost to attendees.
