OCCC secures its own FAFSA school code: 042837

Throughout the history of Oregon Coast Community College, from its founding to this year, the College was accredited through larger institutions.

In early 2020, after a laborious five-year process, the College secured its own independent accreditation from the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.

The achievement has led to a series of changes, from minor to profound, in the College’s daily operations. In late June, the College’s website URL will change, from “oregoncoastcc.org” to “oregoncoast.edu.” While a simple URL revision is largely symbolic, much more substantive changes underly it, changes such as local control over curriculum, instructor qualifications, textbook selection, and management of financial aid for OCCC students.

Effective now, all prospective OCCC students completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) should use OCCC’s new code, 042837.
