Gloria Ingle

I am Gloria Ingle and I am a member of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians. I was born and raised in Siletz until I was 16 when our dad moved the family to Wrangell, Alaska.
For the next 50 years I was married, raised a family and enjoyed a rewarding career in teaching and as a K-12 principal. My love of all things school took me to Bush Alaska to Napaskiak along the Kuskokwim River and to Kipnuk close to the Bering Sea.
After retiring I was hired as a consultant for the Lower Kuskokwim School District evaluating principals and helping develop Plans of or Plans for Improvement.
Returning home to Siletz I found I was not suited for a rocking chair and so ran for and was elected to the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Tribal Council. I have now in my second term. I also serve on the Board of Trustees for Western Oregon University.
I have had the most wonderful and rewarding life, both personally and professionally, and believe that when we can we should try to give back. I believe in helping others and I continue to love education and all it represents. There is no finer calling than to be part of and supportive of those who believe that education is a gateway to a productive and rewarding life.
