About Our County

Oregon Coast Community College has served Lincoln County since its founding in 1987. Situated along the picturesque central coast of Oregon, Lincoln County is a gem that combines natural beauty with thriving creative and business environments.

The county boasts over 60 miles of stunning coastline, providing breathtaking views and a host of recreational activities like fishing, tidepooling, hiking, whale watching, and surfing. The scenic beauty of the area is complemented by the charming towns of Newport, Lincoln City, Waldport, Yachats, Siletz, Toledo, and others – each offering a unique blend of local culture, arts, and culinary delights. The Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians present two culturally significant pow-wows each year and are presently constructing a new center for Tribal arts and heritage.

Economically, Lincoln County is characterized by a diverse and growing economy with strengths in healthcare, retirement, tourism, fishing, and a burgeoning tech/Blue Economy sector. Educational opportunities in Lincoln County are robust, featuring not only OCCC’s four centers, but also an innovative K-12 school district, which has developed some of the most lauded CTE programs in Oregon.  This educational ecosystem helps ensure a skilled workforce ready to meet the demands of a dynamic economy. Lincoln County’s communities are committed to sustainable development and actively seek to balance growth with environmental stewardship. {View the County Profile, from EDALC}
